Electrical / Lighting Systems Other Happens always Always
Q: I have big problem with the electrical's system.
I need the plan electrical for connect the cables, fuse box and the electronic box. thank's
A: THE BEST PLACE WOULD BE A MANUAL FOR YOUR VEHICLE AT YOUR AUTO PARTS STORE(APROX$15-35) THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS BROKEN DOWN INTO WIRING SCHEMATICS IF UNABLE TO LOCATE CONTACT A REPUTIBLE REPAIR SHOP AND ASK IF THEY CAN GET A SCHEMATIC (NOTE THERE MAY BE A SMALL FEE FOR THIS)
Electrical / Lighting Systems Making Noise Happens sometimes When warm
Q: Whining sound from radiator fan i think, although viscous fan has been changed.
A: Well does the car run hotter than it did before the fan made the noise? If so i would check the water pump. The water pump will make a whining noise or grinding noise when it has failed. If it is not the water pump i would check everything belt driven as in power steering pump, altenator, A/C compressor for a failure.
Q: Sliding roof is not fuctioning, switch is ok, there is no power coming to the switch, may be a relay problem because all the fuses in the fuse box are ok. (Which relay could be the problem?)
A: Well first off this may sound stupid but did you check all of the fuses there sould be like two or sometimes three fuse boxes and there is one under the rear seat that not everyone knows about, if you did that there is a relay but it is probably controlled by a module or not so what you need to do is have someone push the switch over and over so you can find the relay clicking if you hear no click you might have to contact a bmw dealership and they should be alble to tell you what wires got to what.
Q: Between 1500 and 2500 rpm, the engine hesitates and acts like it's missing on some cylinders. Also, the idle won't go down below 1500 rpm.
It has new injecters, and the timing is correct. Please help.
A: Before getting into things like throttle plate position etc...the simple things first...
The largest scource of vaccuum leak on these cars is the auxilliary air valve... on the intake manifold with an approximately 1" diameter black hose leading to and from the intake manifold.....
Pinch the hose closed with pliers and see if the idle comes down.....Ed
Q: After 2500 Rpm or so there is a loss of power. The car starts fine and drives great until you reach a higher rpm. A new cam was put in the car recently.
A: Re-set valves. Also check vaccum advance to see if it is working. Check all vaccum lines for leaks.
Q: When the oil cap comes off, when engine is idling, it stalls.
A: Good system...... that is because the intake(air) system is a closed system that measures every gram of air the engine is using through the intake hose...
When you remove the oil cap, this allows false or "bypassed" non-measured and therefore non-accounted-for air to enter the engine.
The fuel mixture then leans out, and stalls the engine.... Ed
