Or it will idle up to 1600 or 1700 and then drop off to 1200 and then repeat -- continuously surging like that.
I've checked for vacuum and air leaks and have not detected any problems. What next?

Q: Transmission. Had the car angled up while waiting for piston to arrive from over seas, trany fluid was thought to have drained, then the seals maybe went bad, here's the probly, in reverse it runs just fine, not in forward. wont move an inch. doesn't stall... just wont move
A: simple as this... check the fluid. if low, add more. check it when hot, or just pull the stick out, it should be wet. If fluid is at the right level, get your tranny rebuilt.
Q: The power windows recently stopped working on my 1979 BMW 733i. I am trying to figure out how many relays and fuses the car has for the windows and where they are located.
A: if all the windows stop working i would say the problem is with the fuse.
