Drive Train / Driveline Malfunction When driving Always

Q:  The transmission seems to vibrate when I am in overdrive, but not as much when in regular drive. What can be the cause(s)?


A:  The shudder is in the overdrive unit.... the most commonly failed part of all the new automatics..... If you keep it in D instead of OD, it will last longer for you..... Ed

Engine Malfunction When accelerating Always

Q:  My 1995 Fleetwood acts like it wants to die out when I accelerate. It seems to run much better when I get up to speed. It runs the worst when I have all accessories on. I checked the plugs and they are clean. I replaced the timing system chain and gear. But it still runs same. It backfires through the intake when I rev it suddenly. Any suggestions? Thank you.


A:  Map sensor????????....... the backfire is caused by not enough fuel at the RPM level...... Ed

Q:  It will start but shut off right away


A:  well i own 3 fleetwoods my self an when i had that problem it was the PVC Valve the hose came off the throttle body.. check that out.. an check all other vacume lines for cracks.
