A: Your car is equipped with OBD-II (on board diagnostics 2). The computer runs a self test on the car every 10-15 minutes. If there were a misfire present, your "check engine" light would come on and stay on. Before spending a lot of money on it, first try a tankfull of premium fuel with an after-market additive to clean injectors. It's worth a try. Hope this helps

Q: I get a warning light that reads: "Very low refrigerant level". This turns off the AC compressor. I had a mechanic check the level and it was full. The warning light stayed off for about three weeks and is now back on again. How can I get the error message cleared now that it is HOT in Ohio. Thanks!

Have someone else check the system. Once a repair is made it is important the the computer be reset; otherwise it will continue to display the message until someone tells the computer that the problem is resolved.

A: Absolutly not...... there is however a dis-arming procedure outlined..... long and involved and will require some reading to understand.... not complicated, but you need to read it anyway.... Ed

Q: I have worn out right front and right rear shocks. The OE shocks are electronically controlled and expensive, and may not be available. The suspension is soft, and I would very much like to improve the handling by stiffening up the suspension. What options are available?
A: Of course Aftermarket parts are avaliable. However if you are looking for cost efective, then I suggest asking your local parts dealer (autozone, ect.) if they carry any other shocks that will fit your car. Shocks are pretty much interchangeable if you keep the length and how they mount on the chassis the same. They could steer you in the right direction in this matter.
Q: The car seems to be sluggish starting after driving for a period of time. I have changed the battery and the digital display shows 13.6 volts when operating. Could this be an alternator problem.
A: It could be, but one sure way to tell is to start your car, remove the battery while the car is running, if it stays running the alternator is fine, but if it shuts off after taking it out you have a bad alternator.

Q: I have a 1990 Cadillac Seville 4 doors, and in a very short time (before is hot) the cooling fan starts, but the worst part is that it doesn't stop when I turn off the ignition. Any Idea what is going on and what should I do? I think I may need the AC electrnonic module

Q: My Cadillac Seville will not start. The words "starting Disabled due to anti theft" keeps comming on the display. I charged the battery and replaced the key, but it still won''t start.
A: Does it have the type of key with the resistor in it? If yes, you may have to replace the ignition lock cyl.
Q: When the Injectors gone bad what are the symptoms? Mine won't start. The fuel pump is good. Fuel gushes out when I loosen the
screws on top of the injectors.

Q: There is a relay and fuse box outside under the hood and on the drivers side. I am wondering what the relay that has what looks like a snake or defroster icon associated with it does.
A: A. Electric Rear Defog relay. Does your car have rear defog, has the rear glass been replaced and a gridless glass been substitued?
Pull the relay in question out and try to turn rear defogger on..nothing will happen. Reinstall the relay and turn the system on. Glass should feel warm to the touch in thirty seconds. System times off after about 10 minutes.
Q: The car runs at night when it's cool, but not in the day. I've been told that the left fuel injector is not receiving code. When it's hot outside - in the 80's - the car cuts back on power and runs at 50 miles per hour tops.
We replaced the fuel pump, fuel pump relay, idle control module.
I can disconnect the ground cable from the battery for about 1 minute and then reconnect and the car will run until it cuts back again. It seems to do it when the car is stopping and starting in traffic. When it is on the hwy at 70, it doesn't do it.
What part do I need? Thank you, Larry

If the engine is not actually overheating, the computer thinks it is and is acting accordingly.......
I would check the temperature sensors to start.... Ed
Windows / Glass Making Noise When driving When warm
Q: I have power windows, only one of them works now. The other three make grinding noises when I push the button.
Do I need new motors, and if I do are they hard to replace myself if I order them.
A: Sounds like you are missing "teeth" on the mechanical wheels of your motors. The motors could be interchangable w/ other GM window motors(=cheaper price). Check your local pull a part wreck yards.
