1953 Chev 3100 Pick-up

Engine Upgrade Not applicable Not applicable

Q:  Hi, I was told the truck has an engine from a 1964 -
1967 Chevelle.

Based on the casting numbers, GM (or GC) 388-69-44
or GM3 391-6313, its an 8 cylinder 16 valve with a 2 jet
Bay City Pp #7041118 146 1-EB.

I am getting a lot of conflicting information, so I'd like
to confirm if the Chevy Chevelle even had a 283 in
1964 - 1967.

Can you help me further with this or tell me where I
might start? Thanks

A:  Yes, the Chevelle had a 283..... a 350 is a bolt-in if a 283 was already in there..... a ton of options are open to you now........Ed
