Q: I replaced the fuel line 2 months ago. I have flushed the engine line occassionally. When the gas pedal is held at the same position, the engine loses power for a little bit then catches and works properly. I must keep fluttering the pedal (not a lot) to keep it from doing this. When the gas pedal is floored, the car accelerates and runs just as it should. The car dies when coasting to a stop. It does not always do this. It does not do it if you just rest your foot on the pedal. The oxygen sensor was changed with the battery disconnected. I have not taken it to the dealer for code assessment. The fuel filter has been changed. The throttle position sensor has been mentioned by several as a possible cause.

Q: Hi Ed,
Im trying to locate the tach wire on the 3.1 v6 (vin T) engine.
I assumed it would be underneath the 3 coils, but there is 6 wires that dont match the wiring diagram.
The wiring diagram shows 5 wires and doesn't specify the color of the tach wire. I've also thought maybe the tach wire is in the main wiring harness on the firewall.
Fuel System Won't Start When starting Not applicable
Q: CAR SEEMED TO BE STARVING FOR FUEL AND WOULD NO LONGER START.CHANGED FUEL FILTER AND SPARKPLUGS.THEN, CAR SEEMED TO BE FLOODING OUT. I UNHOOKED CONNECTOR TO INJECTOR AND CAR RAN ON REMAINING FUEL IN MANIFOLD FOR A FEW SECONDS. HOOKING CONNECTOR BACK UP CAUSED IMMEDIATE FLOODING AGAIN. I INSTALLED A NEW INJECTOR AND STILL HAD FLOODING.DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT.
A: Computer turns injector on and off based on info such as coolant temp sensor. Fuel pressure regulator raises the pressure or lowers it and will also increase amount per second flow. 2 things for you to look at. Ed
Q: WHEN I AM DRIVING MY CAR AND IT GETS WARM IT HESITATES ALOT.SOMETIMES WHEN I STOP AT A LIGHT THE IDLE WILL GO UP AND DOWN THEN STALL AND WHEN I GO TO TAKE OFF BECAUSE MY CAR IS 5-SPEED I HAVE TO REV HIGH AND RIDE THE CLUTCH OR IT WILL STALL.SOMEONE TOLD ME IT COULD BE THE COMPUTER OR THE INJECTORS.
A: Could be a bunch of things...... 1st clean the idle air control motor and channel and then disconnect the negtive post of the battery to reset the computer..... Ed

Q: It will initially start, then when I accelerate, it dies and has trouble restarting.
There is a strong gas smell. May be the fuel injectors, says the mechanic.
He says the fuel filter is fine?
How much can I expect to pay to replace the fuel injectors if that is indeed the problem?
A: Something is telling the fuel injectors to stay on and pump more fuel than required......check this first...Ed
Q: This car runs great when your going but when you come to a stop, it acts like it sticks in 3 gear... you shut it off let it cool down and it runs good.
A: Sounds like the torque converter lock-up is staying engaged.
If you can, locate the 4 wire plug on the transaxle that faces foward, and unplug it from the transaxle.
If that clears up your problem you'll know that the lock-up function is the trouble.
Q: the engine idle rough when is in park when in drive it dont shake as much only when iam in park it idle rough what could it is it vacuum leak or fuel injector please help.
A: EASIEST SUGGESTION IS BRING IT TO A RESPECTED SHOP AND HAVE THEM PREFORM A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK ($35-75) DUE TO YOUR VEHICLE HAVING A COMPUTER IT COULD BE NUMEROUS THINGS BUT A DIAGNOSTIC WOULD BE ABLE TO PINPOINT IT
