Q: The front seal on the rear end of my Chevy truck is leaking (ring gear seal). The one where the drive shaft meets the yolk. Is this easily repaired? Does the yolk remove easily once the nut has been removed? Is this a reverse thread nut?

Q: Would you tell me how to install the chain in the transfer case..
A: Yikes....... this is a complex one, and difficult to answer from memory. You run a big risk if we are not completely clear.......
In this case, my advice is to get the exploded view picture, and repair and replace instructions..... Ed

Q: For HEI ignition w/o computer control, is the timing advance vaccuum full at idle? Or is it timed vaccuum advance?
A: I think it is timed...... should be hooked up to the port of the carb that has no vaccuum at idle and when a little off idle.... vaccuum is there... you can try both ways and road test for which works better.... Ed

Q: I am just looking for some information about a tranny i bought to replace in my pickup but i dont know if it is a 3 or 4 speed is there any way i can check the numbers on the tranny to find out?

Q: In my truck the dash lights all went out at the same time. They won't turn on when the head lights and tail lights are on. What might have happened in order for it to do this, and how might I fix it?
