All Part Groups Malfunction When driving When warm
Q: How to adjust the headlights?
A: Park bumper against the wall and turn on the lights. Mark the X in the middle of the light spots on the wall. Back up 20 feet and then adjust the lights so that the spots on the wall are on the X marks on the wall. Ed
Q: Vibration through the brake pedal and steering wheel when braking especially at highway speeds.
A: You have serious lateral runnout in your front rotors and possible warping...if they can be turned...have a brake job done at a good shop where the tech cks the lateral runnout with specs. that Chevy puts out for your Malibu.
That should take care of you!
Thanks

Q: just procedure for taking off interior door panels to install power door locks. have manual window cranks. also i have inspected flex wire conduit going to right rear door. what are the black and lt. blue wires for?
A: there are three screws that need to be removed on the panel itselg, two near the door handle and one other. After that you must detach all the clips on the bottom of the door, and there maybe a few on the sides. After that simply lift up, and out. I warn you there is a good chance you will break the clip attaching the window control pad to the door, and it may begin to slip down.
Q: key in the dash won't turn to start car . it is not on the column so turning the steering wheel back and forth won't help free up lock. the key has not been altered , it goes in but won't turn to start position or any other position.
A: i know someone with the same problem. but only happens on one side of the key. go to a Chevy dealership, and have them order one from the factory, you will need to give them your VIN number though.

Q: The #1 and #2 settings for fan speed control for heating and air conditioning does not work. No air flow from the vents. However, #3, #4 and #5 settings for both air conditioning and heating are working fine.
A: Sounds like either the switch (most likely) or the resister pack attatched to the fan motor..... Ed
Heating / Cooling System Malfunction When driving When warm
Q: The heat works intermittently. In cold weather, it goes from freezing cold to heat and back every couple of minutes no matter how long the car has been running. Works fine once I hit the freeway (60-70mph) until I slow down. Any ideas?
A: Sounds like a faulty thermostat valve. This valve automaticly switches the radiater to pump through the heater core, depending on temperatue. A faulty valve would most likely be your problem. Try first replacing the thermostat, and if that doesnt work, there might be something wrong with your heater core.

Q: Instrument panel works intermittently. When it does work, the fuel gauge floats (i.e. I never know how much gas I really have). When it goes out, I lose the tach & speedometer, the odometer display goes blank, the temperature gauge rotates clockwise until pegged, and the fuel gauge goes way past full. Comes and goes every day or two. Getting more frequent.

Electrical / Lighting Systems Other When driving Always
Q: I start the engine and drive on. The windshield wiper, electrical, works fine for the first try. Then you turn it off, and when I want it back after awhile and nothing happens. If you let it on it "suddenly", it starts going again. And then if I stop for shopping for example, and then get back in the car it works fine just like mentioned above.
