Fuel System Malfunction When starting Not applicable
Q: 2000 Chev Venture will not start unless fuel pump is tapped while cranking engine. Suspect fuel pump or short in electrical connection to fuel pump.
Q: I was told the "Chain" in the automatic transmission of my Chevy Venture broke.
I've never heard of a chain used in a transmission before. Is there such a thing?
A: Yes there is a chain in some of the front wheel drive models..... hopefully this is under warrantee and not a cost to you...... Ed
Electrical / Lighting Systems Malfunction When driving When warm
Q: We have had continuing problems with the automatic passenger sliding door-"bouncing" open when it is almost shut. Various parts have been replaced and cleaned. Now in hot weather especially the door locks throughout the car click open and shut by themselves when a door is opened and shut. The entire lock system was replaced but it still does it. Do we have poltergeists, or is this all related to some electrical system malfunction?
A: The door lock system is picking up current from some other system.. Wires touching or grounding against metal......
I would disconnect the switches one at a time and drive.... When the clicking stops you at least know which door is the problem..... Ed
