Q: I cannot place the car inpark. When you try to push the shift lever up , it appears to b e locked. cannot drive car now, will not go int park or nuetral to start
A: check linkage under the hood- something is loose or perhaps something is blocking the rotation of the liknkage which protrudes from the steering colum

Q: The air compressor part of the automatic air load levelling system failed. Can I replace the rear air shocks with a quality pair of ordinary shock absorbers?
The car is sitting low in the rear even though there is no cargo in the trunk or rear seat.
I believe only the rear shocks are air shocks and that the front suspension is not affected.
Because of cost I would rather not replace the air compressor.

Q: My 1987 5th Avenue won't start. The lights, radio and all of the electrical accesories work, but when I turn the ignition on, it's like it has no power. What next?
Drive Train / Driveline Other When starting When cold
Q: When cold, after starting and going to put the car into forward or reverse gear, it makes a clunking noise.
If it's in neutral, it whines though it does get better, after warming up.
What is the problem and correction?
A: They had a case problem...... it wore out and allowed the extra shaft shifting around play that makes the noise... drive it until it quits..... Ed
