Drive Train / Driveline Malfunction When driving Not applicable

Q:  When slowing down at an intersection, my car occasionally bucks like it is having trouble downshifting. It happens intermittently when the car is either warm or cold, but does not happen regularly. Once in a great while, the car feels as though it is stuck in a lower gear afterwards. This continues until the car is turned off awhile.

A:  The overdrive unit may be sticking on... or more likely, it's the convertor lockup clutch unit not disengaging..... Find and unplug the sensor on the transmission and try it for a while... Ed

Q:  The blower, A/C, defrost and Temperature buttons buttons do not activate.

A:  If the buttons do not feel correct when pushed in, soft and not that click feel, the control panel needs replacing. If the feel is okay, then it is most likely the power scource to the control unit.... fuse possibly.... Ed

Engine Other When driving When warm

Q:  After a few minutes of driving smoke and oil comes out of the tailpipe. This is a 2.6 liter engine.

A:  Check the PCV valve first. It is in one of the rubber hoses and is either L shaped or I shaped. It should rattle when shaken if the ball is loose. If is gummed up then the crankcase can blow oil past the valve seals.
