Q: it hasn't run in ten years. How should I revive it?
A: Drain the gas and change the oil. Remove the coil wire and crank engine until the oil pressure light goes out. Then start. Count on the carb leaking like a sieve. All the gaskets will be dry and shrunk. Ed
Q: I have a hot '67 Chrysler Newport and need tuning info
for the 383 4bbl carb.
I have the timing specs but nothing else. Your rescources
would be invaluable. THANK YOU
Clint
A: Clint, if you can tell me what you need, I can try to
find it for you.....by the way, check the timing chain
for slack. These engines are common for that problem.
No more than 4 or 5 degrees play....Ed
Q: I am looking for a gas tank because the tank I have, has little pin holes in it.
Would it be easier to by another one or fix the gas tank?
If I can fix it, how would I, and if it's better to buy one were could I purchase one?
Thank you,
Broderick Latham
A: Some places can reline old tanks. Probably the fastest most accurate for you. Ed
