Heating / Cooling System Malfunction When driving When warm
Q: My 1993 Plymouth Sundance has stopped cooling. The compressor was making a noise before it stopped cooling, and is still making a noise now, but no cooling. The large hose coming back into the compressor is not cold.
I put a charge on the car, but that did not help either.
The back side of compressor gets hot very quick.
Could a faulty compressor affect my engine temperature gauge?
I notice that on ocassion it starts to move towards the high side.
Any sugestions??
A: The condensor(in front of the radiator) could be plugged, or the refrigerant is not moving quickly enough through the evaporator(in dash) core...
This will starve the compresor and allow the compressor temperature to increase.... Ed
