Heating / Cooling System Other When driving When warm

Q:  My car over heats when the air conditioner is on.

A:  A possibly faulty radiator fan, maybe low coolant level in the radiator, it is normal for the engine to run warmer when the A/C is on but not for it to OVERheat. For a last resort replace the thermostat with a lower temp one, possibly a 180.

All Part Groups Making Noise Happens sometimes Always

Q:  There is a sqeaking sound when I change gears. What could this be?

A:  Is it comming from the Shifter or the Pedal? If it is the pedal it shouldnt be a problem, just give it a shot of spray silicone lube. If its from the shifter you may have a bad bushing that you'll need to get looked at, probably by a dealer unfortunately

Engine Malfunction When driving Always

Q:  Car is running hot, makes a bubbling sound and is leaking but not from the radiator. Can I fix it long enough to get me home if the water pump is messing up?

A:  I don't know how far home is? You should slow the leak by putting a bottle of Bar's leak product in it. Also, you can leave the radiator cap on the first notch so the pressure doesn't build up. Ed

Fuel System Other When driving When warm

Q:  What is the pressure from the fuel pump supposed to be. I think about 50 psi. My mechanic is saying that with the key on and the engine not running the pressure should be 48 psi and when you start the engine the pressure should drop to 38 psi. He says the pressure regulator is bad on the fuel pump. I want to verify this before I spend money on a new pump.

A:  Yes, he is correct. the fuel pressure is correct at 47-48lbs on startup. There is also an ASR (automatic shutdown relay) that may causing problems. It is supposed to shut down the fuel pump if the fuel pressure doesn't come up to par within approx. 7 seconds after the key is turned on. This keeps from burning up the fuel pump.
