Q: We recently purchased a 1989 Dodge Omni. We have noticed a loud noise in the engine area when reaching speeds of about 45 mphs, on.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this noise? Other than that, it runs smooth.
A: What kind of loud noise? What does it sound like? Ed
Q: We purchased a 1989 Dodge Omni just recently. It makes a loud noise when driving above 45 mphs. The noise it makes sounds like a jet engine. We had a Dodge Omni in the past. Also a 1989, and the noise is similar to the noise it would make when turning the wheels. That problem turned out to be that the wheel bearings needed replacing. This noise is all the time, even on straight aways. We did have to buy new tires before we drove it home. Any ideas? Thank you!
A: Wheel bearing/brake pads, or shoes/differential bearing. Ed
