Q: Upgrading from a Smal Block 360 to a Big Block 400. The BB400 is out of a car......I know I have to change the oil pan, dipstick and tube, exhaust manifolds, oil pump pick up, and other small minor parts. My question is: How do you change the oil pump pick up? Do you need to prime the new pick up?
A: The pick up will come out of the pump..no prime necessary if the pump has been used but it also harms nothing if you fill the pump anyway....Ed
