Q: The new Kia Rio, with the DOC puts out 100+ hp, it is based on the same platform as my Aspire, what would it take to swap engines? First will it bolt right in, second what pitfalls might one expect?
A: All I know for sure is the new Kia 1.5L engine in the Rio and old 1.3L used in the Aspire use the same oil filter. I wouldn't be surprised if they could be swapped. It might be a direct bolt in swap but I don't know. Getting one of those engines might more of a problem. But you do have other options. Mazda designed the B series 1.3L (B3) engine used in the Ford Festiva and Aspire along with various other models of Ford, Mercury, Mazda and Kia. You could put in a Mazda SOHC 1.6L (B6) engine from a Mazda 323 or Mercury Tracer as a direct bolt-in, the external dimensions are the same. You could also use a DOHC 1.6L even with a turbo (or 1.8L but that engine block is a little longer physically) from the Mazda 323 or Protege (or Ford Escort GT) but you have to do more work including electrical wiring and swapping the computer. Q: The engine stumbles on acceleration, it's trouble code 08 maf. Can you help with this?
A: MAF is the Mass Air Flow sensor, or the device mounted in the fresh air tube leading into your engine with the wires connected to it.....

Q: I have a 95 Ford Aspire and there's a problem with the headlights. The low beams will not turn on at all and the high beams will only turn on if I hold the switch. The parking lights work fine however...
