Q: The ball joint went out on the drivers side, pulling the half shaft out. The fluid promptly leaked out. (Festiva L with a 4-speed manual transaxle)
I've got the half shaft back in, but now I can't seem to find where to put the mercon in.
I've found the drain plug, but not the filler...? Can you help?
I've called the dealer and a couple of quick lube places, but to no avail. thanks!
A: I do not have that info with me.... check a wrecking yard that may have one of these transmissions already out that you can look over.... Ed

Q: The speedometer does not work. Where should I look?
A: Soumds like your cable is either disconnected or broken. Check the back of the speedometer under the dash. Is it attached to the speedometer? If so, check the cable coming out of your transaxle or transmission. Connected?
Could still be broken internally. Remove both end and inspect. Grab the end and twist. If the other end turns, check the gear inside the transmission.
You should be able to see this without taking anything apart. Is there still teeth on the gear? If so, the fault lies with the speedometer itself. Remove and replace.
Q: can't remove spark plugs from head, fear damage to head.
A: Gental heat from gas burner onto plugs.
while driving,, the steering will whip to the left slightly, it just started ,its a 88 festiva l , 4 speed manual, and some tire noise too. which one ?,, dont know,, is this a common ?? john.
