Brake System Vibration When braking When warm

Q:  Car jerks back and forth when driving and applying brakes. Have to step on brakes hard to stop, they seem to kinda lock up when stepped on hard.

A:  Sounds like you have an abs braking system problem. You will probably have to take it to a certified mechanic to correct the problem. I don't reccommend the typical home mechanic to attempt to tackle a job like this for the simple fact that most home mechanics don't posess the right diagnostic equipment to accurately asses the problem.

Fuel System Malfunction When starting Not applicable

Q:  1986 LTD does not always start, and sometimes stalls, but may restart at odd intervals. Lots of power when it runs. Loss of power is quick and complete. Also noted 3-4 ampere drain on battery when stopped, all lights off, ignition off. If the FP relay is at fault (open), where is it located so that I can replace it? Would the Fuel Pump be somehow connected to the battery drain?

A:  the fuel pump relay is located on the fenderwell near the battery,it will be green,if that relay is sticking on you should hear the fuel pump running(low wine or rumble)sometimes if someone has not put the relay back correctly it will sit upside down and water will get in it and cause the problem.

Brake System Upgrade Not applicable Not applicable

Q:  I have a 67 ford ltd 2-door coupe it has drum brakes i want to convert front brakes to disc brakes what is inter-changable as far as spindles disc and calipers

A:  almost all full size fords use same size spindles and rotors. and you can use the power booster from any power brakes full size car, even the 72-76 torino, cougars, and 77-79 t-birds, cougars will work, just remove the parts you need, from the power assist system, and take the complete spindle, rotor and caliper system and install on your car. do not forget the proportioning valve.
