Q: a couple days ago noticeded that when I turned the truck on it makes a sound almost like if the muffler was leaking. I do not get a check engine light. I have put new spark plugs and wire, also replaced the fuel filter, still no can feel and here noise.

Q: How do I get to the flasher to change it. Where is it. I think it is under the dash but, how do I get to it?
A:
Both flashers (turn signal and hazard) are located under the center lower dash panel on the left hand side. Remove the driver's side under covers (one is black plastic that is horizontal and goes all the way back to the firewall, the other is interior color near where your knees are when driving) then remove the center undercover. They are behind this cover on the lower left.

A: There would be a Schematic in a "Haynes Manual" however it would not be very detailed. I would suggest that if you have ruled out any problems with the fuse or wiring then go to your Library and check out the proper Chilton's Manual and look it up. And remember there has to be someone on here that knows more than me so keep checking back.
Q: The truck had no power and ran rough, so I changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
Now it won't run or even start, and it shoots fire out of carb! Now what do I do?? HELP!
mean marv
A: You have some of the wires mixed up........
You have to re-align the wires at the cap to connect to the proper spark plug sequence......
Q: Went to start it and it started right up. Then it killed and I couldn't get it to start again.
Husband changed spark plugs and he also checked the timing. Everything looks alright. He also put oil down the cylinders to get compression and that didn't help. Now what can we do?

Q: The brake lights have gone goofy.
The rear directionals alternate back-up lights.
Sometimes all the lights work. Sometimes, they half work (the parking lights will work; brake lights won't work, etc.)
How far do I have to go in replacing the wiring,?
Do I start at the front and replace them all or do I splice closer to the rear end?
Do they sell complete kits?
A: I would remove he tail light assemblies.... clean the mounting to the body connections with sand paper and clean the sockets and wire connections...... Ed

Q: The control for my high beams seems to have snapped out of place. It's also the control for windshield wipers and cruise control.
Wipers are only working on the fastest speed and cruise not working at all. When I try to turn high beams on there is no resisitence and no effect.
Would replacing the one arm solve the problem? What is that part called and how is it installed?
I looked at the steering coulum and have no clue as to how to access the control arm. Any help would be appreciated.
A: You have to disassemble the steering column to access the switch... Yes, if it is broken, you will have to change it.....
Please re-enter the brake light problem, I need more info..... Ed
