Heating / Cooling System Making Noise When starting When cold

Q:  The belt squeals loudly when first started and the air conditioner is on, or when the air conditioner is first turned on. It will go away after a short period but it seems to be lasting longer. I have been told it is the air conditioning compressor assembly. However, I have been told a lot of things over the years that may have been true but usually were not.

A:  Check for proper belt tension first.... also add a little wheel bearing grease to the belt (with the engine off!) to see if this improves it...... Ed

Ignition System Malfunction When driving When warm

Q:  My car will not idle when the temperture outside is abve 70degrees F. I will run fine up until approximately traveling 10 miles. When stopping at stop lights with foot on brake it will lose rpm and cut off. I can sometimes cheat and shift to neutral and it will maintain a very weak idle. It may cut of when the weather is extremely warm such as 80 degrees F, (even in neutral) and give me a hard time when attempting to restart. It runs fine in temperatures below forty degrees. At warmer temperatures such as 50 to 60 degrees the problem becomes present when a lot of starting and stopping is done or for a long period of time ie. when running three or more errands back to back with out much engine cool down time, between trips.

A:  Many things to check, have a dealership run an engine code diagnostic on it and see what it comes up with......
