Engine Malfunction When starting Always

Q:  What does instrument panel lights staying on when starting poorly mean? The "check engine" trouble light does not show a trouble code when ALDL wires are connected (a black wire and a white wire with wire connectors in the ALDL wiring harness).


A:  Possible problem beginning in the ignition switch???...Ed

Q:  1986 Isuzu Pup. How does one remove the steering wheel? I need to get behind there to change out the turn-signal switch. Anyway, a conventional steering-wheel puller does not work on that particular model. (unless there is something there that I'm missing). Thx for your time.


A:  You have to remove the horn button first. Usually there are a few screws behind it facing the wind shield. Once you get the horn off there will be a nut, probably 19 or 21mm something like that. The bolt should come off pretty easily. Then you should be able to pull off the steering wheel by gripping it with both hands using the 3 o'clock 9 o'clock postion and moving it side to side while pulling with brute force.
