Ignition System Won't Start Happens sometimes Not applicable
Q: When we turn the key, nothing happens. We have a manual transmission. We thought the problem was with our clutch-safety switch, so we wired it to bypass it. It still didn't work. We wired everything back the original way. At one point we had it wired where we could crank it without pushing in the clutch. Sometimes it cranks...usually when we play with the clutch. Is this just a coincidence? Could it be the starter or ignition switch? Also, is the clutch-safety switch the round piece that slips into the very top of the bar connected to the cluch pedal, or is it the little plastic piece that the bar of the clutch pedal rests on? I guess our question is, where is the clutch-safety switch?!
A: The clutch-safety switch is on the clutch pedal arm. It is the one with the wires connected to it. Ed
