Q: I have a ticking sound coming from my engine.
It ticks with the engine/the more rpm's the faster it ticks. It doesn't do it the first
minute or so after I start it but after that it
ticks for about five to eight minutes then it
quits and sounds like normal. It only does this when its cold or has been sitting for four or five hours or longer.
Q: The engine on it is in pretty bad shape, and I need to get another one pretty badly. Here is my problem, see IF THERE IS ANY WAY POSSIBLE, I would love to get a much bigger engine for it.
I use it on my farm a lot and it has 274,000 miles on it! I love the vehicle and I dont want to give it up.
I don't care what kind of modifications I have to make or how much it will cost! I need more power with it, I know that I will have to replace a lot of the mechanical parts if there is a larger engine for it.
I am just wondering if it is possible at all!?
If it is not, I was also wandering if there were any modifications that could be done to give it more powerful, It really doesnt matter to me if it is street legal or not, I could care less, it usually never leaves the farm anyway. I am just looking for some way to get MORE POWER!
Thanks!
A: I've never been involved with, or even heard of modifying one of these. I don't know even where to start for you....
I would start by finding a Trooper club on the internet..... Ed
Electrical / Lighting Systems Malfunction When driving When warm
Q: Power antenna broke off and motor of power antenna keep on running. How do I turn it off.
A: reach in and try to gain access to antenna motor from underneath if possible and you shold feel small 3 wire connector...just release catch and pull...sounds easier than it actually is..Sorry

Q: After sitting for a half an hour or more, starting car is fine, but taking off feels like it is starving for fuel for about 15 seconds and you get pop, pop, pop ....
A: Engine is not cold, but not warm either..... Start with the termostat....
Will the engine come up to completly warm when driving.... If not, you need a thermostat replaced...... Ed
Q: My O2 sensor light on my ‘92 Isuzu Trooper came on and I replaced the O2 sensor. The light is still on though I attempted to reset the codes by pulling the ECM fuse and then by disconnecting the battery cable. I also double checked the connection. The car seems to be running well and getting the same gas mileage.
Any idea what the problem might be?
Chassis / Suspension & Steering Other When driving Always
Q: WHEN DRIVING THE UPPER CONTROL ARM BUSHING IS COMPLETELY GONE.
THE WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK HITS THE SLIGHTEST BUMP AND THEN MAKES AN ANOING CLICKING SOUND. I FOR SURE KNOW THAT I AM METAL ON METAL.
Drive Train / Driveline Making Noise Happens always Always
Q: there's a nock, and the valves have been adjusted
A: A knock is usually bearings or piston.. clicking or ticking is usually valves.
If ticking is the problem, re-adjust the valves.
If knocking, unplug the spark plug wires one at a time and when the sound gets quieter... That is the problem area...... Ed
Q: While driving, the engine would cut out and then run again. That only happened 4 times. Then we left it over night and now it will turn over but will not start.
A: Check the "Ignition Module" for ignition, and the "Fuel Pump" for the fuel. Ed
Q: Power window doesn't work. The central control beside the driver's seat works fine with all the windows. But the individual buttons near each window don't work.
A: You need to replace the individual buttons, the cost may be cheap, just call your dealer and install them yourself (very easy job), just take the door panels off and remove a few screws.
But the problem is how come these buttons
went bad at the same day. All don't work in the same day.
But it seems the power stuff works good coz I can use central control to do the job. I believe there must be some place in charge of all the control of the individual buttons beside each window.

A: it could be the wiring in the driverdoor that is bad, check it out to see if the wires are cut.
Q: HELP ME PLEASE: I AM A SINGLE MOM WITH VERY
LITTLE MONEY. I HAVE LEARNED A LOT ON MY OWN
BUT I NEED HELP
MY PROBLEM: I HAVE NO FUEL PRESSURE- ENGINE
ROTATES BUT WILL NOT START. I JUST REPLACED
THE FUEL PUMP, FUEL FILTER, CHECKED THE
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS (HAVE POWER TO PUMP)
I HAVE CHECKED THE COIL, TRANFORMER AND REPLACED THE DISTRIBUTOR AND THE COIL. I HAVE
CHECKED AND REPLACED THE FUEL RELAY AND FUSES. WHAT DO I CHECK NOW. stanley56@aol.com
i would appreciate any and all help you can give me.
Respectfully,
MARY STANLEY
A: Three things to do:
1.Check the alternator connections. Usually this will cause it to start (catch) then fail, but it's worth a look.
2.The most likely culprit, if you know the fuse, relay and pump are OK (I had a new pump fail within two months due to a cracked housing) is the connector at the fuel tank/pump. Have they come unplugged because the mechanic didn't put them back tight enough? These connectors are notorious for corroding. They can be cleaned with a little effort.
3. Join PlantIsuzu (http://www.planetisuzoo.com/). They have a mail list / bulletin board for members, some of whom are experts and one of whom is a professional (runs an Isuzu dealer service department).
This is the very best way to get free tech help forever, they have active trading of parts / accessories and there are several dealers who give substatial parts discounts to members. Sounds like a sales pitch, but I don't get anything from it, honest.
Q: It idles fine, but on takeoff it cuts out.
Also the fuse to the auto choke keeps blowing out. What do I do?
A: If the auto choke is shorted and burning fuses, the car choke is in-op and stalls during take off before being completly warmed up....
I would first fix the choke problem.....Ed
Q: Engine oil pressure drops to 0,5 bar when idling with engine warm. On starting up with cold engine it is at 2 bar, have replaced oil pump.
A: You don't mention the mileage on the engine, but I guess a 1980 model has a few, : ). Chances are that normal mechanical wear, such as at the main and connecting rod bearings, is allowing the oil to pass by too quickly, thus lowering the oil pressure. When the engine is cold, the oil is "thicker", and thus does not leak through the excessive clearances as quickly, resulting in more normal pressure.
