Heating / Cooling System Malfunction Happens always Always

Q:  When the fan is on any speed setting and on any mode, the air will not come out of the front vents at all and only very little from the defrost. The mechanic wants a minor fortune to fix it and I was hoping to make it work myself. Is there a secret to this one?


A:  It could be just a vaccuum problem as most of the system is changed and controlled with vaccuum to move the doors. You'll need to locate an a/c vaccuum diagram and locate the leak if there is one....not an easy chore....not trying to soften the blow of the mechanic but somethings are best left to those with the experience......good luck....Ed

A:  Stereo shop is your best bet. I would hate to melt the wiring on this car. Ed
