Chassis / Suspension & Steering Other When accelerating Always
Q: The car always makes a 'bang' or 'shudder' when shifting into 4th gear (usually at about 30 miles per hour) - sometimes worse than others.
It feels something like hitting a bump in the road, which manages to disguise it very well every time I have a mechanic drive it.
Sometimes it's almost imperceptible, and other times, I can visibly see the dash & steering wheel shake as well as feel the big 'thud' - what's your take on this? Thanks
A: Apply the accelerator firmly as though you were accelerating to 50 mph....
Does this still happen or are you "backing" out of the throttle about the 30 mph reached time so that the transmission is in high pressure/no load phase??
Difficult to determine at this distance... If the tech can duplicate your driving style, you will get closer to solving this.... Ed
Electrical / Lighting Systems Malfunction Happens always Always
Q: indicators nor hazards are working
A: It's one of the housands of relays us jagaur owners are blessed with. ((Saves burnt wires and shorts!}}
I will check my manuals, but an email and I will send one back with details asap.

Fuel System Won't Start Not applicable Not applicable
Q: It turns over, but will not start. I have put new plugs wires, distributor cap, and rotor on.
A: If it had spark when turning over, then your problem is with fuel.....
If no spark, then you still need to find out which part is not doing it's job....
You need the book...... Ed
Q: They tell me I need a proportion valve on my 1982 Jaguar XJ6.
I saw the unit, and it was leaking break fluid on the top of what looks like a plastic nut, which has an electrical plug in.
I can't seem to find this part. Could you please help me?
The brake works but they leak off and goes to the floor.
Thanks.
A: The plastic switch may be seviceable seperatly if you check your Jag dealer....
Any used parts place is going to sell the complete unit...... Ed
