Q: The passenger side mirror on my 1997 SC400 had to be replaced due to a problem with the mirror coating being affected by the heater. The replacement mirror is not the electrochromic (auto-dimming) type. My interior mirror is, and my driver's side exterior mirror appears to be, but when I asked the dealer I was first told that only the interior and exterior driver's side were available with that feature.
When I questioned them further, I was told that in fact only the interior mirror was electrochromic. I don't think I'm getting the straight story, and I've been unable to get confirmation from other dealers or from Lexus. Since there aren't a ton of these around, it's hard to find another vehicle to compare with. What's the true story with these mirrors? Any advise would surely be appreciated. Thanks.
Eric
A: I believe that all the mirrors had this feature. Ed
Q: Do you have to drain the coolant to change the thermostat?
A: you dont have to if you dont want to, you will probabally lose most of it disconnecting your radiator line though. so it would be a good idea to change it anyways.
