Q: Speedometer indicates twice as fast as actual speed.
A: I had my transmission work on. The mechanic said there are different types of gears. The gear is attached to the speedometer cable and into the transmission. I too had the same problem and gear was changed.
Ignition System Malfunction When accelerating When warm
Q: The engine stumbles or shuts down when the gas pedal is depressed much past a quater of the way.
If you accelerate slowly, it will get up to speed and act normally, but as soon as you depress the pedal it dies.
If it's in neutral, you hear no hesitation at all when the gas pedal is depressed.
The computer code is 21 in diagnostics and the manual I have says the problem is in the ignition.
It says take it to the dealer to fix, but I'm hoping there is something I can do.
Any help is appreciated.
A: These systems are not easy to work on.... the design is very difficult.
It's a carburetor with electronic valves that meter the fuel.... if memory serves me correctly they have six systems that work together...
The last time I worked on one was a year ago and I remember not enjoying myself, and I have all the equipement and information.....
I don't know what your capabilities and resources are, nor your available time etc...... always good to learn, but this one may be outside those parameters.... Ed
