Ignition System Malfunction When driving Not applicable
Q: Vehicle has 212K miles. Recently, after a new alternator installed (2nd in 3 yrs), began to hear high-piched "radio" interference-type noise, with or without the radio on.
Then, when slowing for a stop, the car died, lights-out dead. It would restart when placed in neutral, but a scary situation while in traffic. This has been an intermittant problem, until just recently. The batery charge indicator will begin to vibrate, the radio noise will become louder, and the vehicle will act sluggish, then,"lights-out quit". Last night the car died after starting in a parking lot.
Attempts to restart for 3-4 tries were unsuccessful (like the batter was disconnected, and then the car started as if nothing was the matter. It quit 2-3 times on the 4 mile drive back home.
A friend suggested that the coil pack could be bad, or maybe just a dying battery (it happened 4-5 times in the last year, but charges right back up with no problem).
A: I had a problem like this in my car, I replaced the battery and alternator, still no help, I took it to the dealer and they replaced a "turbo module" look into that part if its available, if not I suggest taking it into the dealership.
