Engine Malfunction When driving When warm

Q:  I have a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim (6cyl). Every so ofter I will be driving and then I realize that the car has died..I mean the air is still going and the radio is on..it just dies. Then you start is up again and it won't do it again for awhile...then Bamm! We have had numerous mechanics look at it and noone can find anything wrong. It is not showing any codes whatsoever. Please help...I do not want to drive my car anymore.

A:  Christine, I had the same prob with my 88 dodge dakota, i got home and began checking everything over my battery, my alternator, I also checked the fuel pump, the fuses, turns out it was the pressure regulator on the throttle body. Now your prob could be anything from a junk battery to needing the fuel system checked over and serviced.

Drive Train / Driveline Vibration When accelerating When warm

Q:  The car has vibration at low speed.

A:  Vibration or a sort of "wobble"??..... If the car body shifts around at low speed, it's probably a tire seperated.... If it's actually a vibration then maybe an engine mount is broken? More details on the vibration will help.... Ed

Q:  Speedometer/odometer stop working after the car is driven 4 to 6 miles depending on temperature. The speedometer will start bouncing then drop to the bottom of gauge.

A:  The vehicle speed sensor (located on top of transaxle, straight down from t-body) either has a poor connection, or is intermittent internally.

Chassis / Suspension & Steering Vibration When driving When warm

Q:  I have a 1990 Plymouth Acclaim 2.5L. I was experiencing a humming sound and moderate vibration at all speeds. I had the passenger side wheel bearing replaced which resolved the humming noise and also had the tires balanced and rotated. It is still vibrating (less) over 65-70 mph. Front end components seem OK with perfect looking CV boots and joints and no loose components ?

A:  Tires need rebalancing. Ed
