Chassis / Suspension & Steering Making Noise When turning When cold

Q:  when i make a full turn it comes a strange noise like "aoooh" sound..?? it sounds to me that it comes from the stearingwheel but i`m not sure..what can it be..???

A:  Sounds like your power steering. Check the power steering fluid and add some if it's low. Be sure to start it up and turn the wheel from side to side several times afterwards to bleed the system of any air. If it's not low on fluid, it may be the power steering pump. In that case, unless you're a DIY-er, you're going to have to take it to the shop. Hope this helps! -Elizabeth

Fuel System Won't Start Happens always Always

Q:  Condition started over last three months. Seemed to loose power on hill. Driving on highway it would start running rough. Changed distributor cap, plugs, rotor, air fileter, fuel filter. Condition disappears for 3 days then returned intermittently. Never stalled. Have notice the power loss maybe 10 times.

On errand car running fine, parked at store, ... came back to start, cranked, engine started w very low idle after 2 minutes, ran 5 seconds quit. now don't get any start.

WONT START, HAVE SPARK. Pulled fuel line, some gas, but leave disconnected and crank no gas spurts. Have trouble getting at fuel pump to check voltage. Is there an interlock? I do get spark but cylinder I checked (#2) is dry. No gas on plug. Changed filter last month.

Running fine, parked at store, then nadda. engine has 162k on original timing belt. Inspected belt, looks ok. can not hear fuel
pump in the back? of the van. Where is the pump, how is it checked by shade-tree mech? Is it in the tank? History of
operation, excellent.

No technical tools available. computer codes are 12,54,21,55 Where is a fusible link for fuel pump? No schematics. Notice no pressure on fuel now w line open.

A:  Bang hard on the bottom of the fuel tank while cranking the engine over. If car starts, you need a fuel pump(in tank). This is a "shadetree" diagnosis technique *grin*. Ed

Fuel System Other When accelerating Always

Q:  My car has not only become hard to start, when I press the gas pedal, nothing happens.

The engine does not rev, it's like the fuel isn't getting to the engine. Sometimes when this happens the car sputters and dies, and sometimes it recovers (shakily) and keeps on truckin'.

I have replaced the fuel filter, the spark plugs, and the air filter. I added fuel injector cleaner to my gasoline.

I have heard that some vans have two fuel filters.

Would my van have two filters?

And what suggestions do you have for my problem?

A:  I would be checking fuel pump pressure and output. Ed
