Q: Fuel pump doesn't run. I've checked fuses and relay. Relay clicks when key turned on. Can't unplug pump to check for voltage, "special" clips holding it on. Advice?
A: A wiring diagram will show you the 'out' voltage wire from the relay..... Check for power there... Ed
Q: The engine revs will drop and pick up intermitently. At the same time the speedometer will fluctuate rapidly. The mechanic I took it to says that it is a problem with the Powertrain Control Module and that I need to replace it. What do you think?
A: Sounds like he is on the right trail but needs to check it out to prove it. Ed
Q: I am an experienced mechanic. I have the symptoms of a blown head gasket or cracked head. I have had the head pressure tested and no crack was found. I have completelly disassembled the head and can see no crack. The head was resurfaced and reinstalled. It ran fine until it warmed up then same problem.I am getting compression into the cooling system. Upon disassembley I can find no sign of a blown head gasket. I checked the block with a staight edge. It checks out OK. Any advice ?

A: Hairline crack in the cylinder wall? If you test the rad GASES with a product called Block Check or use a 4 gas ehaust analyser at the radiator neck and either shows exhaust gases in with the coolant, then you at least know which side of the piston cycle you are dealing with. Ed
