1999 Audi A6 Ignition System

New User Asked -
I have recently changed the spark plugs in my car, the HT leads are still the original. However, the car is missing under heavy acceleration and missis on the odd occasion under normal driving. At idle, the car is fine but will miss slightly when warm. Problem is worse when car is warm. Prior to changing the spar plugs, the car was fine. I dont think the HT leads have ever been changed

Hello, Have you taken the spark plugs back out to see if one cracked during installation?

If when the engine is running in the dark of night with the hood up can you see spark jump if you raise the engine speed off idle?

Will the high tension leads pass an ohm check?

Roger

Hi, I am confident that the spartk plugs are good. However, I do see the odd spark when the engine is at idle, more so at higher revs and when the engine is warm

Roger -
One should not see the spark. Check the area of the spark (engine off) for a cause. Cracked wire, pin hole in a wire boot,... something odd.
