I need to sort my parking brake out but don't know where to start. Can anyone email me a diagram of the system and how it works?

Being a '07 model and it is a safty factor,I would suggest you take it to a dealer and see if your warranty covers your problem.Unless damage was caused by collision or neglegence, the warranty should cover it.Unless you are "very" knowledgable with automotive repairs this is a repair best left to those with the proper equipment to diagnois and repair.
If its just the odometer, its probably a gear in the speedometer guage.
If its entire speedo not working, it is probably a wire loose at the speedo sender in the differential or the sender itself.
If ther is lots of snow in your area, a chunk of snow or ice mught have damaged the wire

i did change other speedometer, they still same problem ,the rpm gauge working good ,temp gauge work ,speed gauge and mpg gauge the needle move up n dow not exacly as my speed and the fuel gauge work very poorly

Have you tested or replaced the speedo sender in the differential?
Noise coming from right front wheel. Brakes have been checked and caliper pins have been lubricated by an authorised BMW dealer
Roger -
Hello, Please describe the noise and if you can effect it....turning, braking, accelerating, pavement speed bumps...??
Roger
New User -
The car makes a noise largely when its hot and it sounds like a rubbing noise a dull moaning noise. The problem is that it is intermittent and can normally be heard when one pulls away from a traffic light. I have as said previously had the front brakes checked and the brake calipers lubricated by the local BMW agent. The frist time we took the car to the agents they recoomended changing the power steering pump which we did? Now I am not sure what to think as the only other moving part I can think of causing the noise could be the wheel bearings but i am not willing to go to the expense without knowing whther or not this is actually the problem. Regards

Duplicating the complaint is paramount when diagnosing a symptom. When a shop foreman or lead technician is available for a road test...
You should drive the car first and demonstrate the driving condition during which the condition presents the noise.
Then allow the specialist to drive and prove to you that he can duplicate the complaint as well.
If the car doesn't make the noise for you or the specialist cannot duplicate the noise after you demonstrated it to him don't leave the car.
This process will take longer to remedy the problem and is the least expensive approach to a satisfactory repair.
BMW issued a bulletin about the mechanical tensioner for the serpentine belt making noise. The bulletin called for replacing the mechanical tensioner with a hydraulic tensioner. It was not said when the noise would occur.
That's all I have at this point. You may wish to release the question for others to try to answer in the hope this condition you described to me has been a challenge they concoured.
Thoughts?,
Roger

I can't believe I spelled conquered as "concoured" in my last reply! Sorry for the confusion.
warning light comes on saying "cooling fluid is low" "see owners manuel". when i check the fluid level it appears to be ok. why does the light come on? It (the warning appears when i turn off the ignition.) why????
Douglas -
It may simply the cooling fluid level sensor giving a false reading. Have you tried topping coolant level if it is even a little low. Are you checking the level in the reservoir when the engine is cold or hot?
New User -
checking the fluid level when the engine is cold.
the fluid will drop about a pint in a months time.
however, when i top out the fluid, the light still comes on when i stop and turn off the ignition.
Douglas -
Check the fluid level sensor to see if it may be sticking, should be in the reservoir.

douglas: thanks for the info and the tip about the sensor sticking. will check out and thanks again!
1992 BMW 325i Engine Vibration When idling No pattern
simsima Asked -
At idle,I feel a slight shake throughout the seats of the car.It almost feels like there is a misfire. It feels like the car is losing spark. The rpm needle does not move and when I give it gas the car runs smooth. I have just recently changed spark plugs and spark plug boots and it's still the same. I have also done an injector flush but yet still the same.It is a really anonning problem, Please help.

Take a look at engine timing.
There is usually a connector, or switch that needs to be turned off so that the computer does not get the timing signal it normally does receive during operation. This is done so that non-computer assisted timing can be accomplished.
Second point, because of the roughness is fuel/air mixture.
The things to look at here are the temperature sensors, intake manifold, coolant temperature, and air temperature, or mass air flow going to the air cleaner.
Any of these could be at fault. They are frequently over looked.
1992 BMW 325i Engine Hesitating Happens always Always

We have drivabily issues concerning a 1992 BMW,325i.
Recently purchased as is, this car always stalls when braking ,accelerating, and feels like it has loss of power while driving
Please help........ Thank You

Hi,
A common problem on this car is a broken air intake tube between the air flow meter and the throttle body. Any crack will cause it to run poorly. Any other vacuum leak can do the same thing. If these are OK, you may have a bad airflow meter.
Best Wishes,
Dale
1987 325I starts and idles but will back fire and flutter (will not rev up) seems to run only in back up mode (get home mode) have changed injectors , wires ,plugs , pulse coil wire ( attaches to no.6 wire)ecu.cleaned all connections to ecu. changed out o2 sensor, holding open fully the air flow flap , I can get the engine to rev to over 5k ,( seems to take fuel easly with this flap open) close it for normal operation, and its back to fluttering . 4 mechanics at bmw looked at it and cannot figure . it out. checked out coolant temp sensor, can you help? thanks ,dave

Has anyone checked the throttle position sensor?
New User -
Yes the tps has been checked.timing has been checked, checked for clogged exhaust,
New User -
hello, any body there? what components need to be in order for this engine to run correctly?????
Douglas -
If this engine uses a mass airflow sensor, that would be at the top of the list at this point.
