New User Asked -
left turn is like having no power steering. Right turns are fine.

Bruce Kit -
If fluid full and clean, try having the system power flushed. Many shops have this capability. If that does not correct issue, then the valving in the ps rack is worn/sticking.Either a used PS Rack or a Remanufactured one is in order. There are no user replaceable parts in the ps rack and it requires special tools to dismantle.Although it is poss. to replace the rack in your driveway, you will have ti followup with an alignment.

Douglas -
This is tell-tale failure in the steering unit itself. Rather complicated on these vehicles.

Use the following link for generic information on replacement.

I may be able to give you better information tomorrow or the next day, if this is something you are going to repair yourself.

New User -
I just had the system power flushed. Could that have caused the problem?

Douglas -
Yes. Call them back and inform them that something went wrong and see'll if they'll try flushing it again.

Flushing is great, but it can dislodge junk that never gets removed and causes problems.
