1997 Chev Chevy Van Drive Train / Driveline Hesitating When accelerating When warm
New User Asked -
1997 chevy van, with 87,000 miles, began at 30,000 hesitating and pausing upon exceleration after a long highway trip. What type of transmission problem do I have?

It may not be a transmission problem.A modulator for the tranny or slipping clutches could caue the problem but I would also look at a Maf(mass air flow)or Map(mass air pressure) sensor and possiblly a Tps and O2 sensor.Have the vehicle scanned for any probabale problem codes. If the right kind of scanner is used,it will pick up transmission codes also if the tech knows how to ask it to.
Good Luck,
Paul

my turn signal and break lights stoped working at the same time, yet my hazard lights flash on and off,and my night time runnig lights work.
I checked my fuses, and replaced all my bulbs.
What's up?
p.s. I noticed this problem after I had my trasmission serviced,

Hello, Okay-fuses and bulbs are good...Check the brake light switch to see if you have power on one wire(orange?) at all times and for an output on a second wire(white?) when the switch is "ON". If this is the case, you'll need to replace the turn signal switch assembly in the steering column.
Brake lights are routed through the turn signal switch and the same circuits used for brake lights are also used for turn signal lights. You can inspect the turn signal switch connector (at the base and on top of the steering column) for a bad connection, but I doubt you'll notice anything.
I like to plug another turn signal switch into the vehicle's harness connector (see paragraph above for location) and test signals for operation before I disassemble the steering column to ensure replacement will fix the problem.
Servicing the transmission is not likely a factor here. A tilt style steering column is because every time the column tilts, the wires inside the column move too. Over time the harness for the switch can fail as can the switch itself.
