the car won't start, all the time. we replaced battery, cleaned cables and connection, and replaced starter. The car's lights come on, but no sound at all, after a few minutes, it starts! It is intermittent. Noone we've asked has heard of this. I am a grandma, this is my granddaughter's car, who lives here, and we are frustrated. Thanks so much

The problem may lie in the ignition switch itself or the ECU.When you insert the key,it sends a signal to the ECU to power up.If it dosent or the ECU cant read it or is not gettig this signal,your problem may lie here.

Thank-you, so much. We will check these things out right away. I suggested the ignition to everyone and they said, couldn't be that or it wouldn't start any time. We also had to have a new catalytic converter. I thought maybe something happened in that repair.Thanks again, I'll let you know Sandy

1963 Chev Impala Engine Overheating When driving When warm
New User Asked -
My car has a 327 engine. It currently has 158,000 miles. It overheats only in temperatures above 80 degrees after driving about 20 miles non-stop. It has a new radiator and is not leaking. When it gets hot, it kicks the water out of the overflow. It has a fairly new water pump and water seems to be circulating, but is circulating very slowing. There seems to be a lot of movement in the engine pulley system when putting the car in gear and is making a rattling noise. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Hi;
I would take the belts off and see where the play is coming from. It sounds like something is loose and not keeping proper tension on the belts. This is causing your water pump pulley to not spin fast enough and circulate the water to maintain the engine cool. Good Luck Les.
