2001 Ford Escape All Part Groups Won't Start When starting No pattern
New User Asked -
Car will not start, no check engine lights. I put my foot on the gas to rev up and it still dies

When your car will not start here are some things to have checked: 1. Check for ignition spark at spark plugs, 2. Check for fuel pressure, 3. Scan P.C.M. (computer) for stored fault or error codes.
You do not have to have a check engine light to have stored codes The information should pinpoint the malfunctioning components.

What is the easiest way to check fuel pressure?
Also, what does it mean when I attmept to start the car and get a strong gas odor, even if I know it's not flooded?

You can check for pressure at the intake manifold with a fuel pressure gauge
check the location of the meter while you are cranking the car
A faulty fuel pressure regulator may be your problem. This regulator leaks fuel into the engine when it is off which causes an over rich condition when the engine is starting or started
again codes will help diagnose the problem
When attempting to start car it won't turn over. No clicking sound heard from starter, nothing. Replaced old battery with new, charged one, no luck. Pulled starter and had it tested, worked great. Any ideas?

Hello, What engine please? Auto, or Manual trans?
If an automatic will it start in Neutral?
If manual have you checked the clutch starter safety switch?
