Ford Estate Wagon

1994 Ford Estate Wagon Engine

New User Asked -
Had the top end rebuilt, head surface, valve job, timing belt, water pump. Now the car stalls intermitttently. Runs fine one day, might stall at a light the next. 1994 Escort LX Wagon, 1.9L, manual trans w/air.

Bruce Kit -
Check the hoses and wiring over carefully. And if that produces no results, have the car scanned for codes, even if no check engine light.

Sounds like a vacuum leak or a sensor wire loose. You will have to do some investigating.

Replaced tps and idle air modules. Still trys to stall intermittently.

A crank position sensor might cause those problems. They sometimes do not 'set a code'
I also replaced a fuel pump in a car that exhibited those same stalling problems.Usually fuel pumps do not 'intermittently' quit but occasionally do.
