Each time the high speed cooling fan comes on it blows a red 50 amp fuse. A brand new fan assembly has just been installed yet the problem continues. Can you figure out what is happening?

The first thing I would check is the wiring, carefully, inch by inch. For a 50A fuse to blow, you would have to have a major wiring short. If you are unsure of the exact wiring, Haynes manuals (abt $13)
have easy to read wiring diagrams
2002 Ford Focus All Part Groups Smelling When stopped Always
New User Asked -
The car was purchased with 50000 kms on it...no leaks, all is fine. oil change a few months later...and leaks ever since...new plug installed, new gasket...and so on...two different garages and four or five oil changes later...they say it leaks "on the passenger side by the firewall, but not sure where". what is up and what needs to be done?

"What would need to be done besides tearing the whole car apart to find the leak.
An oil stop leak agent would re vitalize the seals and stop small leaks especially those invisible ones and that is a possible problem
If that does not do the trick then you would have no choice but to start removing parts until you get to the place where the oil is seeping out there are not too many more choices.
you have to find where the leak is comming from before you can attemt a repair
hope this helps

OK will try that. What I wonder is...is there something very serious and expensive going on here that I cannot ignore...or am I ok to leave it as long as I am ok with the fact that I get a loonie size of oil or more dripping on the ground each nite....
macconeck -
AS long as you are sustaining good oil pressure and no problem with mixing of fluids IT MAY JUST BE A SEEPAGE of oil AND STOP LEAK WILL NORMALLY SEAL that with no further problems
It is important to read the labels on the stop leak to make sure you are putting in the right stop leak for the engine
If there is a bigger problem here then it is something that will get worse over time and then you can attack it from a Know position otherwise it is a big guessing game and you will spin wheels around the mechanics that already cannot tell you where the leak is originating

The 2[redacted] Ford Focus has been plagued with fuel pump problems. The problem is the coating in the tank comes loose and plugs the fuel pump filters. This creates a variety of performance problems and premature pump failure. The good news is the problem is so widespread that Ford will replace the fuel pump (an updated version) free of charge. Make certain the fuel tank is flushed during the process to get the junk out of there.
By the way, in the event you have replaced the fuel pump in the past, Ford will reimburse the cost.
