2002 Ford Lightning Pick-up Engine When starting When cold
New User Asked -
truck has 17000 miles and is blowing blue smoke on about 50% of cold starts, dealer is telling me its my K and N air filter- sounds fishy to me what do you think?

The only way your air filter could make it do that is if it was extremely over-oiled. I would put a regular filter back in it, then take it to the dealer and have them fix the real problem.

my coil pack on my truck has just recently broke, but the awkward part about it is, it broke the plastic tab of the coil pack that keeps it anchored down. so i figured it would be an easy fix so i went and purchased another one and the same thing happened it broke the plastic tab. I already have checked my spark plugs and they are all gapped correctly and they have no corrosion or wear on them. However the only coil pack it does this to is the very back one against the firewall on the drivers side if you could give me any information on this it would be much appreciated thanks.

Check to see if the spark plug is loose. These are known to loosen and break the coil (worse case scenario the plug ejects).
