The driver side door is closed and the latch will not release. How do you get into the guts of the door with the door closed? I have power windows and locks.

Have you tried repeatedly unlocking the door, often enough the lock sticks (it wouldn't hurt to spray the latch mechanism with lubricant- should be able to access from the outside handle).
Sometimes you can still remove the door panel with the door closed, although there is risk of damaging the door panel. If you must perform this repair yourself, it may be necessary to remove the passengers door panel and study the operation of the latch mechanism. Then you will need to 'fish' through and trip the latch. Not an easy job.

Thanks we got the door open, now we can't get the latch to release to close the door. A cliff is sounding good.

You'll need to pull the door handle while prying the latch with a screwdriver to get it to release. Once you open close the latch (not the door) with the screwdriver. Repeat this process as many times as necessary to free it up- penetrating oil will aid. You may need to replace the latch assembly to restore proper operation.
