Jaguar XK8

1998 Jaguar XK8 Engine   

The expansion tank is leaking and needs replacing. Is it difficult? I have alot of experiance with cars. Can I do it myself? Will you tell me how to change it.

Fairly basic Re and Re, just a few bolts and if I remember right about 5 hoses.
Use a bit of lube on the hosed as the plastic nipples are not that strong.If a hose feels particularly hard, replace it, as it will have difficulty sealing and you might breal the tank as they are a bit fragile!
At $150-200 each, it pays to be careful!

Jags are interesting cars to work on.The only British car in my personal fleet is a 42 year old MGB. Now if I trip over a bit of cash, a XK8 is on my shopping list!
