1986 Nissan Stanza Van Engine Malfunction When driving Always

My battery light comes on. Have brand new Sears SUV battery. Dealership says that my alternator is
"charging but charging low" I think they said it's at 11.
I replaced alternator via dealership Feb 1987, and Feb 2000. Then at gas station March 2001.(gas station has closed)
My van equipped with lift for my electric scooter.
What should I do? I'm 73 yr old woman and travel alone. Am willing to get another alternator because I'm afraid to breakdown on highway. Will that solve the problem?

your alternator should have been charging at about 13.5 volts if it has been replaced then the only thing left is your batt to be a problem I wouldm definately change it
do you have a warrranty on the batt> just exchage it battery go bad all trme time
ifg not geyt you a batt with a lot of cranking amps

Battery tested ok and is the most powerful Sears has......it's one month old.
Dealership replaced alternator with factory one, not reman. So far.......so good. Thanks for answering.

A batt can test out fine and still be bad but an alternator is either chsarging at its full potential or not and it must be at about 13+ AMPS TO THE BATT IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE BATT TO HAVE DEAD CELLS THAT WOULD NOT SHOW IN A TEST SO KEEP IN MIND IF THE PROBLEM OCCURS IT COULD BE EITHER BUT IF THE ALTERNATOR IS CHARGING THEN IT IS DEFINATELY THE BATT WHETHER IT CHECKS OUT FINE OR NOT EVEN A NEW BATT COULD BE BAD AND CHECK OUT FINE MACCONECK

1986 Nissan Stanza Van Fuel System Smelling When starting When warm 

When my 86 Stanza wagon gets hot, it won't start... I can hold the gas pedal to the floor and try starting it but it may take 20 - 30 tries before it will fire. It also occasionally dies when I'm stopped at a stop sign and goes into this non starting act. It alway starts just fine when it's cold though.

You must check for spark to the plugs during the no start. If you have spark try spraying some carb cleaner into the throttle body. Not to much and follow safety precautions! If engine now starts for just a brief period you need to check to see if there is fuel pressure (can you hear the fuel pump run during no start?) And if there is pulse to the fuel injectors.
