The car will not pass a pollution test,I'm starting to think that it must be some sensor as I have changed the spark plugs and oil,oil filter and air filter. It seems to run good, but the gas mileage is not great. The test shows about 15x over the standard for both hydrocarbons and Carbon monoxide with a low Nitrogen Oxide and Carbon Dioxide. any ideas?

have your car checked for intake vacuum leak and also have your o2 sensor data read to make sure they are working

On GM vehicles there usually is a grey pigtail lead on the right hand side of the engine compartment near the firewall. This is usually a direct lead to the fuel pump. By placing 12v directly to this lead you should hear the fuel pump running. Once you hear this try starting the vehicle. Should the vehicle start you have a problem in the fuel pump relay circuit.
car shut off today while driving car sat for about 20 minutes and then restarted then died again the fuel pump was replaced about 2 months ago with the fuel filter i checked for spark and there was none so i replaced the module and the coils all three car started fine but then stalled out again after half hour of running but started up again then it stalled out in my drive way do you think this is the computer

It sounds like this engine has distributorless ignition. In this case there is a good chance the crankshaft position sensor is failing, this would be the case with a 2.8L V6. Let me know if you have a different engine.
have to adjust power steering pump to replace belt...it won't move...lossened all the bolts I think

If you have loosened all the front bolts on the pump( 0ne behind the pulley might be accessable via a hole in the pulley)
Try looking on the Backside of the pump for the last bolt. GM's traditionally have a bolt on the back of the pump.Do not pry on the tin pump housing, it will dent, or worse.

ok there are 3 bolts on the front...have remved 2 of them...the 3rd is behind the pully
that is all fine ...that will remove the pump...but how do I adjust it to tighten the new belt
Bruce Kit -
Is it a V Belt or Serpentine? Engine size?
(1)V Groove should have slotted holes on the pump bracket.Just loosen bolts an pry pump aside to tighten belt.Or slotted holes on alternator bracket.
(2)Serpentine (multi Groove Belt) has a spring loaded tensioner that applies tension to the belt, no adjustment required .
