My 389 engine after being overhauled is heating up consistantly, we tried new radiato, waterpump, electric fan , timing. It runs great but heats to over 220 always.
We think maybe a frost plug was pushed in and left.
Also the radiator hoses tend to collapse

Check for a restrion in the cooling system. Temporary remove the thermostat to make it quicker. Look for any bubbles in the radiator to rule out head gasket leakage.

Also, make sure the radiator hose has a spring still installed.
