1998 Pontiac Grandville Electrical / Lighting Systems Malfunction Happens always Always

Skittcat Asked -
I can't get my heater or airconditioner to switch where the air comes out of(I.E. dash, face, feet). it just comes out of everywhere Is this something I can fix or something that needs taken in for.. and what could it be

Skittcat -
it is supposed to be grandprix and it is a se sorry

Sterlingfixer -
The most likely cause of your problem is a broken or disconnected vacuum hose to the climate control system. Look under the hood where the hoses go through the firewall. You may find the problem there.

Skittcat -
I can't seam to find any hoses going into the firewall other than the two for the heater core. Just cables for throttle and for the transmission. Where excactly does the hose connect to on the engine? so maybe I can see if it is even present. And it does work off vacume hoses not electric?

Sterlingfixer -
It is vacuum controlled on this car. The wires should be going in at the far passenger side of the dash near the wire harness. I will try to look at a Grand Prix this weekend to tell you the exact details.

The vacuum hoses will be small, much smaller than the heater hose and can be confused with wiring unless you look closely.

Skittcat -
I think I found the hoses.. it comes off the intake manifold and then goes under the window washer resivour. it connects to a tee or something there and then one line goes into all the wiring into the dash, and the other somewhere else. the tee was broke so I replaced it. But it still don't work. is this supposed to be a tee or a one way valve or something. maybe I replaced it with the wrong part. or is this even it?

Sterlingfixer -
That sounds like the right hose. The next step is more complex. You should remove the climate control panel and see if the panel is getting the vacuum from the manifold. If OK, switch the settings and see if the control panel is sending the vacuum to the different servos.
