hello my question is I have a saturn sw2 1996, and when going into reverse, i sometime either get a clunk like hard going into gear sound or this happened a couple of times in 2 weeks, now i actually sometime cant even go into reverse, it revs, but i get nothing. are we talking alot of money, I paid 1200..for the car 4 months ago, any type of tests before investing for a whole new tranny? kind regards and thanks in advance!

Hard shifting is usually caused due to low fluid levels or dirty transmissiomn filters
The filters alow the servos to become clogged at times.
Have your Transmission seviced and make sure they change the FILTER , this is not a standard of a trans service.
You may want to have the PCM scanned for any stored codes in case there is a problem
that is on the way.
This will be inexpensive
