2001 Toyota Echo Electrical / Lighting Systems Dimming When braking Always

New User Asked -
When the left turn signal is engaged and the brake pedal is depressed the left brake light and left turn signal dim and blink as well as the bake up lights on both sides. All lights/blinkers work fine until the brake pedal is depressed. The dimming also occurs when the emergency flashers are on and the brake pedal is depressed. All bulbs are fine and the wiring appears ok. I figure there is a short but have been unable to locate. Please help.

You have a bad ground connection on your left taillamp. Check the left bulb holder at the brake lamp socket. Check the wiring coming to the socket.

Awesome!! I did not even think to check the bulk socket. After checking I found the contacts bent. Fixed the problem and now works great! THANK YOU!

2001 Toyota Echo Heating / Cooling System Malfunction Happens always

New User Asked -
The AC is running and the shut off on the dash won't stop it. When I pull the Fuse,it stops. I took the dask panel out to look at the AC dash switch. It looks okay and all wires are connected. When I push the dash AC button the green light that indicates it is on, goes on. When I push it again, the light goes off but the AC stays on. Can you tell me what part I need?

kaptnzog -
Is there air blowing thru the vents on the dash or the defroster? If you haven't done so already, turn the cycling switch all the way one way to the other a couple of times to see if may be your cause. The A/C will engage in the defrost mode.Without doing a hands on inspection the control head becomes highly suspect to me.Let me know of your outcome.
Good Luck,
Paul

I did as you requested. I didn't know which switch was the cycling switch. So, I moved all three switches. The fan speed, the location of where the air blows and the temperature switches. It is working fine now. When I push in the on/off switch the air gets cold in the "on" position and hot in the "off" position

The cycling switch is the one that dirrects A/C,heat,defrost,vent etc.You say it operating fine since doing this.Do the same thing if it happens again. If it works,it sounds as if the control head is your problem.
Good Luck,
Paul
