2 door hard top power window on right door. The window glass "dropped" when the door was slammed shut. We are attempting to remove the door panel to get to the glass and the window regulator/ cable but the door panel seems to be hung around the door release handle. In addition need a picture of how the cable or regulator is supposed to operate/look for normal operation. and instructions on how to "remount the glass".

1999 Toyota Solara Chassis / Suspension & Steering Making Noise When driving No pattern
New User Asked -
When driving car it makes creaking / some thud type noises underneath the forward section of the chassis when driving over slightly uneven and repaved roads. Noise can be considerably heard with windows rolled down on both sides. Pushing down or rocking the car does not generate the noise when car is immobile. Just had alignment / new tires / front struts replaced to stop it but, still noise persists. Car has 29,000 miles Any ideas??. Thanks

Hi:
You might want to check your subframe mounting bolts. Sometimes they will come loose making such a noise. It is hard to figure out when the car is standing still due to the subframe not being under stress. Another test you might do is have some body start the car and put it in drive and then reverse to see if you can duplicate the noise or see the subframe moving underneath. Sometimes giving a little bit of gas while holding the brake on will duplicate it also. Good Luck Les.

Is this something that would be obvious to a service mechanic or a Toyota mechanic? Are these bolts readily acessible? Why would these come loose...because of wear,excessive shock or just poor or marginal design?, Should have the hardware replaced or just tightened?...is this common with these cars?...car has only got 28,950 miles on it. Thanks for your help. I will review your next reply and compensate as promised. Thanx again. -ar

Hi;
Itis not obvious to a service technichian of a dealership beacuse they do not want to spend the time on it. I worked for a dealership and you get paid comission. If it is still under powertrain warranty I would contact the service rep in your area and start filling a complain. As far as the bolts coming loose this is something that might of happen at the assembly line where they did not get tight enough. It could of been built on a late friday afternoon or an early monday morning. This is an expression we used at dealership. Thanks Les. Any more questions. Please feel free.
